Georgian Bay Sea Kayaking

Date: October 3-5
Estimated Cost:$120
Deposit:$60

Come sea kayaking and camping along the amazing cliffs of Bruce Peninsula National Park. We’ll be driving to the North end of Bruce Peninsula on a Friday October and camping near Cyprus Lake. On the Saturday, we’ll get our kayaks and start out in Horse Lake and then kayak out along Georgian Bay all the way to High Dump campsite (as long as the weather cooperates). We’ll do some exploring and general gallivanting for as much more time as we have on Saturday. Sunday, we leisurely kayak back to Cyprus Lake and then drive back to Guelph. Two spots will be reserved for drivers with vehicles.

Email Liam at lbarkley@uoguelph.ca with any questions.

Note: This trip is in open very cold water and the conditions can be very rough depending on the weather. Prior kayaking experience is preferred and priority will be given to anyone with kayaking experience.

Guelph Rod and Gun Club Shooting Range Trip

Date: TBA

Tuition (paid as deposit) – $20

Estimated Final Cost – $20 (need to bring your own safety glasses, normal glasses or sunglasses will do)

Come join the outdoors club and learn how to shoot! No experience required! We will be heading to the “Guelph Rod and Gun club” and given safety and practical instruction by the club’s range officers. The officers will give each person one-on-one attention and everyone will get to shoot pistols and rifles. The price is $20 per person, which includes shooting for an afternoon and all safety equipment except safety glasses. Everyone must have a pair of safety glasses (or normal glasses) to shoot. We will need to have some drivers so let me know if you are signing up, have a car and are willing to drive. It’s a 13 minute drive from the university and you will be reimbursed for gas. If we are unable to get enough drivers we will need to cab, but again its only 13 minutes away so it’s not a problem.
